Wondering how you can start making room on the pew?

1. Stay connected.

I love handwritten notes. Whether I am writing them or receiving them, it feels like a harkening back to the days of old when we prioritized people over possessions and long term relationships over convenient acquaintances. There is just something about the time spent neatly writing out thoughts and stories, carefully folding the letter and stamping the envelope, and walking it to the mailbox that makes my heart smile.

My monthly email may not come on gorgeous stationary hand-picked for you or be in my own scrawling, but it is the next best thing. Once a month, you will receive an email packed only with content I believe will be beneficial to you and your faith journey. Here’s what you can expect when you sign up:

  1. An exclusive essay no one outside of my email list will see;
  2. Links to each podcast episode published that month; and
  3. A book recommendation from my own bookshelf.

Plus, you will be the first to know any exciting news about new projects, my new book, and our foster and adoption journey.

I hope to see you in your inbox soon!

Success! You're on the list.

2. Commit to learning.

The best way to begin anything is to start by learning. If you’re here, there is a good chance you already know or suspect that there is injustice, not only in the world, but also within the Church. Keep learning along side our community by tuning into the weekly podcast featuring authors, pastors, and agents of positive change about how we can directly influence our own churches and communities to become more welcoming of all people.

Listen on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you like to listen.

3. Join the conversation.

This work is not possible without community – and that includes you! Join the conversation on Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #MakingRoomOnThePew and tagging me @baileyjowelch

If you have a more personal story to share or if you would just rather chat one-on-one, send me a message here or email me at baileyjowelch@gmail.com. I can’t wait to hear from you!
